Good article on http://www.facebook.com/aqualocate about abandoned wells and how they contaminate our groundwater! I wonder if realtors tell land buyers about this before they sell a piece of land or if well drillers do the right thing after drilling a "dry" well?
I cannot count how many groundwater surveys we have done where we've stumbled upon an abandoned well that was not properly sealed.
Call me (Ervin) at AquaLocate if you need help locating the aquifer before drilling a well!

Tell me you found the information on my blog for 10% off a groundwater survey!
AquaLocate provides groundwater surveys & GF6 sales & training worldwide. The GF6 seismoelectric water exploration system is limited to seeing depths of 1,500-2,000 feet which is ideal for well water exploration. PetroLocate offers oil, gas and geothermal exploration surveys and PL14 sales/training. The PL14 sees to the depths of 6-10,000 feet (depending on geology) which is needed for detection of oil, gas & geothermal reserves.

Locate well water (the aquifer on your land) before drilling begins. Finding out the aquifer depth, yield and thickness allows you to prepare for your next well drilling project- both placement and cost.

New GF6 Seismo-Electric groundwater surveying system being used in Africa!
Mark, who is the first owner of our new GF6 system to take the system to Africa is staring his first project this week in Kenya. He is very excited to finally use the GF6 to improve the successful water wells being drilled by the non profit groups in which he is involved.

Seismo-Electric groundwater survey success! Aquifer location, depth and yield!
Scott L. who owns property near Spokane, WA was looking for another well. He hoped to get enough water to help irrigate some of his land but we knew that wasn't a strong possibility.
We completed a small groundwater assessment for him i...n a field near his home. The best site found was estimated to have a yield range of 5 to 10 gallons per minute with the likely yield being at the lower end of that estimate.
The maximum depth to drill was listed at 267 feet factoring in the 20% margin of error. The final depth of the well was reported by the well driller at 252 feet and the driller estimated yield was 3.5gpm. A final pump test is pending and an update will be provided when available.
